The Pennacook Tribe's Personal Life:
- “The Pennacook people didn’t settle in one place” (Pg 1). They were nomadic, settling in different spots around Merrimack Valley.
- Many families constructed wigwams, also called weetu–as a home, to keep warmth, and battle cold storms. With the doors facing east to the rising sun as a source of light into the shelter.
- They would also handcraft pots that they would use to carry water and store food.
- The group had “a lot of salmon runs in the spring to catch fish”, (Pg 3), where they would gather to catch fish; preserved in salt and stored for winter. A lot of these moments would serve as times of peace, and diplomacy for the leaders.
